Our Story

My brother Bob was murdered in December 1999 from a senseless gunshot wound to the throat.  While walking home from work one evening he was struck by a stray bullet with no warning, never imagining he would not ever make it home again.  His death and a thoughtless moment during Bob’s memorial service by the Funeral Director led us to our invention and subsequent Patent.

Years later I was at the cemetery paying a visit to my mother and brother when a remarkable idea came into my mind.  I was thinking back about how uncomfortable I felt in the way Bob’s ashes were laid to rest.  We decided to bury his ashes in a family cemetery plot.  Towards the end of the memorial service the Funeral Director brought Bob’s ashes out from the trunk of his car in a small stained cardboard box wrapped with packing tape.  I couldn’t help but think how unsuitable it would be to lay Bob to rest in this reused, worn out, poorly taped, stained cardboard box.  Part of me wanted to stop the memorial service right then and cancel our gathering until we decided on a more suitable way to present Bob’s ashes for burial.  I hesitated and did not speak up because I could see the grief my mother was dealing with and thought this abrupt interruption and delay would only prolong her agony.  So, Bob was laid to rest and I never mentioned to my Mom just how awful I felt about that situation.  Maybe others attending didn’t notice but I did and to this day that memory has bothered me.

Thanks to my Mother and Brother we now have an idea/invention that hopefully will prevent others from ever feeling the way I felt that day.

I would like to dedicate Lumen Essence Vessels in honor and memory of my brother Bob…….
